The Value of Volunteers

"Don't ever question the value of volunteers.  Noah's Ark was built by
volunteers; the Titanic was built by professionals" - Author Unknown

Nothing on Earth is more gladdening than knowing we must roll up our sleeves and move back the boundaries of the humanly possible once more.

Volunteer is Compassion

The next time you feel compassion tugging at your heart, answer with a resounding yes. Give generously of your time, your resources, and your energy.  But most of all, give of your heart. Ask God what part you should play in aiding someone in need.  Your part may be as simple as weeping with those who weep or offering a heartfelt prayer on another's behalf.  When you allow God's compassion to flow through you into the lives of others, you'll not only help change their lives for the better, but your own as well.  Because been volunteer is all about compassion. Volunteer Experience

One of the most beautiful experiences I have ever had in helping others is as a volunteer.  Obviously for most people like you and me, choosing to become a volunteer isn't a completely selfless act, it's about you too.
If you want to:
-Gain experience
- Meet new people
-See new places
-Learn something new
As you can see, volunteering doesn't have to be solely about contributing to a good cause, but it can also be about you learning a new experience and growing as a human being.
But please, take your time to do some research so you can be sure that you're signing up for a meaningful, ethical project. That way you'll get a lot more out from your experience.
